NOTE: The sheet does not
have to be precisely centered.
However, the closer to the center,
the better.
The station photosensor senses the mate-
rial, clamps the sheet, and the carriage
conveys it up to the transfer clamps (Fig-
ure 3-9, A).
Drape the leading edge of the next sheet
over the yellow station table even before
the carriage returns (Figure 3-9, B).
The carriage returns, senses material,
clamps the sheet, and conveys the sheet
to the inlet transfer clamps.
This process is continuous at each of the
two stations.
NOTE: Always follow the site
standards to avoid repetitive
motion injury.

Feeding Small Pieces
Press the BYPASS button on the CHI
Panel.
The sheet feeder stations shut off and the
front bypass conveyor raises into posi-
tion.
Lay small pieces flat and square onto the
bypass ribbons.
When finished feeding small pieces, press
the BYPASS button to return to normal
operation.
Waxing the Ironer
To accommodate waxing the ironer, follow the
Feeding Small Pieces procedure.
Speed Control
If the unit is equipped with Chicago’s speed
interlock system, the unit’s speed setting can be
changed to automatic mode.
In automatic mode, the machine’s speed is
controlled by the Chicago
®
ironer behind it. In
manual mode, the machine runs at the speed
shown on its CHI Panel display.
To switch between manual and automatic
modes refer to the CHI PANEL bulletin,
Adjustments
section,
Ironer Speed Interlock
Adjustments (IRN) subsection. Set PWM to 0
for AUTO; Set PWM to 1 for manual.

speed encoder signal from the ironer.
