Model Type/Number of Programs

When the unit ﬁrst starts up, the following

displays on the CHI Panel for about 3 seconds:

KING EDGE
TYPE XX XX PROGRAMS

Type

The 2-digit type code indicates whether the

machine will use standard or metric measure as

shown in the table below:

The machine will not operate properly if the

type is set to either 01 or 03.

Programs

The unit can internally maintain up to 32

program settings, although it would be rare for

any operation to require that many. The machine

ships from the factory set for 4 programs. To

change the number of available programs in

increments of 4:

Within the ﬁrst 3 seconds of display, press

the CURSOR so that it is under the number

of programs.

Immediately press the + or – key to set the

desired number of available programs.

Program Selection

Once the standard display shows, pressing

a STATION button will select the program(s)

entered for that particular station button. If the

unit has 8, 16, or 32 programs, pressing the

STATION button repeatedly will cycle through

the programs assigned to that button.

Pressing a STATION button until the light

goes off leaves the machine running in standby

mode.

FEEDER OFF

Any ﬂatwork fed into the machine in this point

will simply be pulled through the inlet belts and

dropped on the ﬂoor.

Speed Control

The unit can operate in either manual or

automatic speed mode.

In manual mode, the machine runs at the speed

shown on the CHI Panel display. In auto mode,

the machine’s speed is automatically controlled

by the Chicago

ironer or Chicago encoder

behind it.

To switch between manual and automatic

modes refer to the

Adjustments

section,

Ironer

Speed Interlock Adjustments (IRN)

subsection.

Set PWM to 0 for AUTO and set PWM to 1 for

manual.
