Removing/installing throttle-

valve actuator

•

Remove intake air silencer.

Important:

Take care not to bend the retaining bracket for the
throttle-valve actuator.
Screw is secured with a thread-locking compound.

•

Remove the fasteners (arrows).

•

Remove the throttle-valve actuator.

Important:

The throttle-valve actuator operates from the 5 volt
control-unit supply. It must not be run from the mo-
torcycle’s 12 volt circuit.

Important:

When a new throttle-valve actuator is installed, the
idle switching point is not correctly adjusted.

•

Install throttle-valve actuator. Insert the screws
with

Loctite 243

and tighten them.

•

To adjust the idle switching point, turn the screw
(arrow) according to the display on the

BMW

MoDiTeC.

•

Mark the screw with paint.

•

Perform function test with

BMW

MoDiTeC, menu

item THROTTLE-VALVE POTENTIOMETER or
throttle-valve actuator.

Tightening torque:
