CHAPTER 6: The Menu System

•

Enable Minimum Password Length

This option sets the minimum length for passwords to the specified number of
characters. (Even if this setting is disabled or set to zero, passwords must be at
least one character long—no “null-string passwords” are allowed under any
circumstances.) Passwords may be as long as 15 characters; the default length
is 5 characters.

•

Remote Session Beep Interval

This feature is used to alert the host site when someone remotely accesses the
ServLINK. When this feature is enabled, the ServLINK will beep or play a
.WAV file at a specified interval between 0 and 99 seconds. The default value is
10 seconds; setting this option to zero disables this option. (No matter how this
option is set, the ServLINK will always sound three beeps when it is powered
on.)

•

Enable Inactivity Timer

The Inactivity Timer, when enabled, monitors user activity through keyboard
input and mouse-click menu selections (but

not

simple mouse movement). If

no activity is detected within the time specified here (default is 10 minutes),
you can set the ServLINK to either automatically log the user out or switch the
user to Host Mode.
