8.1 Camera and Lens
8.1.1 Cleaning the Camera Box/Removing the Bottom Plate
The camera box itself should only be cleaned using a mild detergent and a lint-free
tissue or a vacuum cleaner. To this end, the bottom plate which is held by two mag-
nets can be removed.
When inserting the bottom plate, make sure that the rear pegs for positioning the bot-
tom plate will be inserted into the appropriate recesses in the dark box. If not, the bot-
tom plate will be installed slanted and this may cause focusing problems.
8.1.2 Cleaning the Camera
Clean the camera only with pressurized air spray or optical paper!
Remove the camera for cleaning.
Positioning the camera at working height
Move the camera transport unit to a height that allows you to easily remove the cam-
era (several centimeters above the bottom plate).

Open the door of the acquisition chamber to check the movement of the camera
transport unit. Check that there is no sample tray or any other device which may
block the camera movement.

Do not reach into the acquisition chamber while the transport unit is moving!
o
Move the camera (z-axis) into the low position (step 98000) using the service soft-
ware or indiGO. Click on
, select Position
and choose Z-Axis and Position from the dropdown
menu.
o
Enter 98000 steps at the prompt and press OK to
move the camera to the specified position.
Dismantling and cleaning the camera
o
Unscrew both screws fixing the camera to the transport unit.
o
Carefully lift the camera off from above.
o
Do not detach the cable from the camera.
o
Start an acquisition with long exposure time via the software. This opens the cam-
era shutter at the bottom, so that you can remove dirt particles.
Caution: do not damage the shutter!
o
Clean the camera using pressurized air spray.
Installing the camera
o
Install the camera with both screws to the transport unit. The port must face the
camera lift.
