Remove the left tank cover. (See "Removal
of Left Tank Cover" (Page 7-39) .)
Follow the steps below to remove the seat
mounting bracket.

Remove the cotter pin and washer on the
right end of the shaft.
While supporting the seat mounting
bracket with one hand, remove the nut
and spring washer that fix the gas spring.
Pull out the shaft toward the left, and
then remove the seat mounting bracket.

Remove the U nut, washer, bolt, and
spring, and then the lever from the seat

overtorque tightening, etc.

Important

Replace the removed cotter pin with a new
one.

Important

After completely tightening the nut that affixes
the lever, loosen the nut by a half rotation and
make sure that the lever moves smoothly.

For installation, reverse the removing
procedure.
