U s i n g O p t i o n 6 0 ( I n c r e me nti ng/ D ecr eme nti ng F i e l d s )
Applic ations s uc h as s erial num bers require a num eric field to inc rem ent (inc reas e in value) or
dec rem ent (dec reas e in value) on s uc c es s ive labels within a s ingle batc h. Inc rem enting or
dec rem enting c an be applied to
nume ric data only. If a field inc ludes letters and digits , apply
inc rem enting or dec rem enting to only the portion of the field that c ontains digits . Do not us e with
Option 42 (pric e field).
W hen us ing Option 60 with RFID Data Fields or EPC data:

Us e c aution when inc rem enting an RFID field if data is c om ing direc tly from a hos t bec aus e
the field m us t be inc rem ented in ASCII Hex.

The data inc rem ents by one as follows : 0 to F (0123456789ABCDEF), then bac k to 0.

Inc rem enting is the only valid option for RFID Data.

Option 60 allows data to be uploaded us ing Option 6. See “ Us ing Option 6 (Upload Field
Data ” for m ore inform ation.

Us ing vers ion 3.0 or greater firm ware, option 60 c an be applied m ultiple tim es to one RFID
field.

I inc rem enting field
D dec rem enting field (not valid for RFID)
R4. am ount Am ount to inc reas e or dec reas e. Range: 0 to 999 .
1 is the default.
R5. l pos Leftm os t pos ition in inc rem enting/dec rem enting portion of field. If
this value is not entered, the default value is us ed.
Range:
0 to 2710 . 1 is the default.
R6. r pos Rightm os t pos ition in inc rem enting/dec rem enting portion of field.
If this value is not us ed, the entire field length is us ed as the
default. Range:
0 to 2710 . 2710 is the default.
