ACK/NAK Error Recovery (“Waiting for Host” Message)
Depending on the hos t’s c ondition, the hos t m us t s end either an ACK or a NAK (hex 15) to c lear
the printer’s “
Waiting fo r Ho s t
” m es s age and res tart the ACK/NAK proc es s . Onc e the printer
rec eives an ACK or a NAK, it autom atic ally proc es s es any pending print jobs . If no
unac knowledged log m es s ages are s aved, the printer res ponds with a NAK to any hos t ACK or
NAK m es s age.

W hen the printer enc odes an RFID inlay, the enc oded data is tem porarily s tored in the printer
until the next RFID inlay is enc oded.
To upload the RFID EPC enc oded data, s end im m ediate c om m and ^LE .
Re trie v ing EPC Encode d Data
After the printer rec eives the im m ediate c om m and, ^LE , the las t s uc c es s ful EPC enc oded data is
returned in ASCII Hex form at to the las t-us ed c om m unic ation port/c hannel.
The ^LE c om m and m us t be s ent after a s uc c es s ful enc ode and print. If the c om m and is s ent
before printing is c om plete, the previous EPC data (if any) is returned.
