This c hapter provides a referenc e for defining

field options in form ats

c hec k digit pac kets .

W hen us ing m ultiple options in a form at, options are proc es s ed in the order they are rec eived.

A pp ly ing F ie ld Op t ions

Field options further define text, bar c ode, and non-printable text fields . The text, c ons tant text,
or bar c ode field m us t be previous ly defined

before

applying any field option to it.

Note :

Define field options im m ediately after the field to whic h they apply.

Combining Field Options

Multiple options c an be us ed with m os t fields . Options c an be us ed in any c om bination exc ept as
noted with eac h definition. Options are proc es s ed in the order they are rec eived.

For exam ple,  us e Option  4 to c opy data  from  another field, and then us e Option 30 to pad the
field.  W hen us ing  m ultiple options   for the s am e field,  plac e  the options  in  the order  to apply  them
in  the  form at.

Restrictions

Som e options   c annot be us ed together.  For exam ple,  inc rem enting (Option 60)  and pric e field
(Option 42) options   c annot be applied  to the  s am e field.   See eac h Option’s  s ec tion for s pec ific
c om binations  to avoid.

Option 4 (c opy a field) is the only option that c an be repeated for a s ingle field.
