4.3 Auto Scan
The Auto Scan function performs a comprehensive scanning of all the systems in the
vehicle ECU to locate faults and retrieve DTCs. Tap
Fault Scan
to start. Systems with no
faults detected will appear in green; systems containing faults will appear orange.
To perform the Auto Scan function
Using topology for GMC as an example:
1. Tap the
Diagnostics
application button on the MaxiSys Job Menu. Choose the
corresponding vehicle information and enter the Vehicle Diagnostics page.
2. Select
Auto Scan
on the Main menu to enter the diagnostics interface.
3. The Topology tab page displays in the main section. Tap the
Fault Scan
button at
the bottom of the screen to scan the vehicle system modules.
4. A system scanned with no faults detected appears in green; a system scanned with
faults detected will appear in orange. The number of total faults will appear on the
upper-right corner.
