Ensure the VCI device is powered on.
When using the wireless connection, ensure the network is configured correctly and
the proper device has been connected.
If the tablet loses communication abruptly during the diagnosis, ensure no objects
are causing signal interruption.
Ensure the VCI device is properly positioned with the VCI front side facing upward.
Move the tablet closer to the VCI device. If using the wired connection, ensure the
cable is securely attached to the VCI.
Ensure the VCI communication mode is lit for the selected communication type:
Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or USB.
B. If the VCI device is unable to establish a communication link, a message will display
troubleshooting instructions. Possible causes for the communication error include:
A vehicle system has been selected for diagnosis that is not supported by the vehicle.
There is a loose connection.
There is a blown vehicle fuse.
The vehicle or the data cable has a wiring fault.
There is a circuit fault in the data cable or adapter.
The vehicle information entered is incorrect.
4.1.2 Getting Started
Prior to first use of the Diagnostics application, ensure the VCI device is properly
connected to and is communicating with the tablet. See
4.1.2.1 Vehicle Menu Layout
When the VCI device is properly connected to the vehicle and the tablet, the platform is
ready to start vehicle diagnosis. Tap on the
Diagnostics
application button on the
MaxiSys Job Menu, the Vehicle Menu will appear on the screen.
