ASSEMBLING THE KEYPAD

6.1

Choosing a location

PU-R should be located in a place assessable  for a user considering the following
recommendations:

Locate PU-R  in a close proximity to the  wireless expander  functioning as a
network coordinator (RR 0).

Communication distance with the wireless expander through the wireless in-

terface at the open territory is up to 800 m. The communication distance in-
side, however, depends on a number of walls and partitions, as well as their
material  type,  and  might  be  significantly  decreased.  Before  PU-R  installa-
tion, evaluate communication quality by  using the pictograph

 located at

the right top part of the screen. Communication quality should be evaluated
not less than “good” (two vertical strips).

Communication  distance  with  the  wireless  expander  through  the  interface

RS-232 is up to 30 m.

Should daily arming/disarming be controlled by  PU-R,  install the keypad  in
close proximity to an entrance door

Install PU-R at the distance of not far than 1.5 m from the wireless expander.

If possible, install the keypad far from (the minimum distance is 0.5 m) metal
objects,  metal  doors,  metallized  window  openings,  etc.,  as  well  as  current-
carrying cables, wires, especially computer wires, otherwise communication
distance might be greatly decreased.

Do not install the keypad close to various electronic and computer devices to
prevent  interferences  from  functioning  energy  converter,  microprocessors,
etc. to affect radio reception.

6.2

Installation

Before assembling the keypad with the wireless interface, remember to firstly reg-
ister the keypad in the wireless expander by using a  wired interface (see the para-
graph 5.3, page 34).
