Locking Channels

Passport DCT lets you block channels so that household members can only watch those certain 
programs if they know the PIN. You can select a channel for locking with the Lock Channels 
option in the Parental Control preference as described in the procedure below. Once you have 
specified the settings, you turn locking on and off to manage blocking and unblocking of 
selected programs. For a detailed overview of how parental control functions, refer to About 
Parental Control on page 113.

To lock channels

Lock Titles

Select this option to block all titles and related 
programming rated NC-17 and Adult (when locking 
it turned on).

Select this option to lock content ratings so that 
household members can only watch programs with 
locked content if they know the PIN.

1 Press the MENU button until the Settings menu displays.

2 Press the up or down arrow button to highlight the Parental Control preference.

3 Press the right arrow to move to the Option column. You see a display asking you to enter 

your PIN.

4 Press the numbered buttons to enter the four numbers of your PIN. The display 

disappears and you see the Option column. 

5 Press the up or down arrow button to highlight the Lock Channels option.
