Using the Program Guide
Loading Additional Guide Information
Note: This procedure is only for models DCT 700, 1000, 1200, 1700, 1800, and 2000; the
models DCT 2500, 5100, and 6200 hold all available program data and do not require
a loading procedure.
You can load up to seven days of guide data for the program guide. The actual number of days
available depends on many factors. When you request program guide data beyond what is
initially loaded (typically 3-4 days), it is necessary for the system to load this new data on the
set-top box. You can only load and view one new time frame segment at a time. A segment is
dependent on the cable provider (for example, a segment might be 8 hours or 12 hours of
information). When you load additional segments, the new segment swaps with another time
frame.
You load a new time frame segment from the time grid display (not the theme or title display).
As a result of the data load, there is a minimal time delay in retrieving the information. During
the time the data is loading, you receive a confirmation message; during this time, you can
scroll through existing data, exit and enter the guide, perform other guide functions, or watch
TV.
2 Press the DAY+ button. The program guide displays the information for the same time on
the next day. Continue to push the DAY+ button until you either find the day you desire
or you reach the end of the available information (data).
• To load new data, see the following procedure.
• If you see the message No Data and the grid lines disappear, you have reached the end
of available data. More will be available as time passes.
Notes:
- The DAY+ button only works if there is a full 24 hours of future program
guide information. Depending on your set-top box type, there may not be
program guide information available for 24 hours. If the DAY+ button does
not work, you can press the right arrow button to scroll through the
information for future hours.
- You can also scroll to the next day, using the arrow buttons.
3 Press the DAY– button to return to the information for the current day.
Note: Another way to return to the current day and time is to exit the program guide and
then return to it. The current time and day displays.
