8.12 One-sided switching
DANGER
Accidental starting up of the seeding and lay shaft due to radar
pulses.
Only actuate the seeding shaft coupling and lay shaft coupling if the
steps are folded down, see section "Folding the steps up and down",
page 130. The unfolded steps prevent the seeding shaft and lay shaft
from starting up due to wheel pulses.
Deactivate the one-sided switching at the end of the field pass.
Working with half the working width
The seeding shaft is driven either by a star wheel
or by an electric motor.
The two-part seeding shaft and lay shaft are
equipped with a seeding shaft coupling (Fig.
209/1) and a lay shaft coupling (Fig. 209/2) at the
centre of the implement. The couplings serve to
switch off half of the seeding shaft and counter-
shaft at the centre of the implement.
To work with half the working width,
move the coupling of the seeding shaft axially
and turn up to the stop in the direction shown by
the arrow. The pin (Fig. 209/3) then latches into
the notch.
Make the same setting on the countershaft cou-
pling.

Working with the full working width
To work with the full working width,
turn the seeding shaft coupling until the pin (Fig.
210/1) engages in the notch of the coupling.
If the relative position of the claws is unfavoura-
ble, a spring ensures that the claws engage au-
tomatically when the seeding shaft drive starts
up.
Make the same setting on the countershaft cou-
pling.
