On entry, “Test Insert? NO” is displayed. To select the sec-
ond test mode, press > (or < ) to change the display to “Test
Insert? YES” and press ENTER to verify the selection.
When ENTER is pressed at
“Test Insert? YES”
,
“[START]
Test [STOP]”
is displayed.
At “[START] Test [STOP]” , place a sample tube in the
INSERT test well and press START to begin the test.
STOP may be pressed to stop the action at any time during the
test. This is particularly useful for checking alignment at the
INSERT test well and the sample freezing chamber.
Press STOP a second time to exit to the test menu.
12. Tube Transport Test
This test is designed to test all phases of the tube handling cycle
except sample freezing. If loaded cassettes are in the left (input)
cassette deck, they will be pushed into index position (if no cas-
sette can be pushed into index position, the test will pause and the
display will report “No Cassette” until STOP is pressed). The
operating head will wipe the probe and stir/freeze wire, pick up a
sample tube from the next loaded position in the cassette, rotate it
to a position over the sample freezing chamber, then return it to the
cassette (it will not be lowered into the freezing chamber). Each
cassette position will be indexed and displayed. Each sample tube
will be picked up, rotated and returned to the cassette. Any empty
cassette position will be so indicated on the printer tape. This cycle
will continue until STOP is pressed, all cassette positions have been
tested or a sample handling error occurs.
If an error occurs, the test will pause and an appropriate message
will be displayed and/or printed.
On entry, “[START] Ready?” is displayed. Press START to
begin the test. When all cassette positions have been tested, the
instrument will return to the test menu.
To interrupt the test and exit to the test menu, press STOP. When
