Calibration

This chapter describes the procedure for calibrating your

instrument. If you have questions or problems regarding

the calibration procedure, please consult

Chapter 5 —

Troubleshooting & Service

Calibrating the 4C3 is accomplished simply by loading five

samples each of two standards in a sample tube cassette and

initiating calibration as described below.
When the 4C3 has acceptably completed five calibration tests

at each level, it will calculate and store the mean of the raw

results of the closest tests. Then, if allowed, it performs the

necessary calculations and calibrates the output accordingly.

CAUTION

If a power interruption occurs during calibration,

turn the instrument off at once and remove any

sample tube that may be on the operating head.

After power has been restored, leave the instru-

ment turned off for at least 5 seconds to ensure

internal circuitry is restarted properly, even if

power restoration is immediate. Start again with

fresh samples.

Place the supervisor/operator keyswitch in the

supervisor (vertical) position. Two calibration

choices are available, determined by how calibra-

tion is initiated:
