30.5 Configured Settings
The line card’s configured settings do not take effect at restart.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
For the ALC1024 or SLC1024, use the
config save
command after you finish configuring to save your
settings to the line card. If this does not work, contact the distributor.
For the VLC1012, press [ENTER] at the prompt “Press ENTER to Confirm…” after you have finished
configuring an SMT menu to save your settings to the line card. If this does not work, contact the distributor.
30.6 Password
I forgot the password to my line card.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Refer to the Firmware Upload chapter to upload the default configuration file. This returns all of the settings to
default values, so you lose any configurations you have made.
30.7 Local Server
The computer behind a DSL modem or router cannot access a local server connected to the IES-2000/3000.

STEPS CORRECTIVE ACTION
1 Refer to section 30.2 to make sure that the subscriber is able to transmit to the line card.
2 Make sure the computer behind the DSL device has the correct gateway IP address configured.
3 Check the line card’s VLAN configuration (refer to the Bridge Commands and IEEE 802.1Q Tagged
VLAN Commands chapters ).
4 Check the cable and connections between the IES-2000/3000 and the local server.
5 Try to access another local server. If data can be transmitted to a different local server, the original
local server (that could not be accessed) may have a problem.
30.8 SNMP
The SNMP manager server cannot get information from the line card.

STEPS CORRECTIVE ACTION
1 Ping the line card from the SNMP server. If you cannot, check the cable, connections and IP
configuration (see the
IP Commands chapter).
2 Check to see that the community (or trusted host) in the line card matches the SNMP server’s
community. If these steps fail to correct the problem, contact the distributor.
