700 Service Strategy
The service strategy for IOLMaster
®
700 envisages that field service must only be performed by
appropriately trained technicians authorized by ZEISS. These activities are described in this service
manual and are dealt with in detail during the service training for this product.
Only original spare parts must be used.
For maintenance and repair adequate ESD protection measures must be taken. Only tools specified in
the tools list must be used (

General Safety Instructions
If you need to gain access to the interior electronics of the IOLMaster
®
700, especially the computer
base, always disconnect the instrument from any and all power sources first.

Do not use or install software which is not approved and tested by CZM. Other procedures than
described in this manual are not allowed to be performed by the field service engineer.
After any kind of manipulation or changes perform a System Checkout in accordance with the
instrument checklist and initiate a technical safety check according to

service of electronic parts directly connected to the main power, e.g. power supply, main switch and
power entry module.

Based on the IEC 60825-1 laser class specification the following laser classes can be found within the
IOLMaster
®
700.
Class 1
Normal Use with Measurement Head covers in place
Class 1M
Service Activity with Measurement Head covers removed.
WARNING RISK OF OPTICAL RADIATION
Once the Glass Fiber is disconnected, do not look directly or via any optical tool, such
as mirrors, magnification lenses or microscopes into the Laser, in order to prevent
potential damage to the Eye.
