CMOS Battery
Note
The CMOS battery (also referred to as BIOS battery) typically lasts between 2 – 10 years
(dependent on operating conditions and usage). Therefore it is recommended that the CMOS
battery be replaced every 5 years.
Precondition:
The computer module and cover have been removed.
Procedure:
1)
Push the release tab and remove the battery
from holder.
Note
Dispose of the defective battery properly!
Refer to local regulations for further
information.
2)
Verify the new battery has a minimum
voltage of 3V DC using a calibrated digital
volt meter.
3)
Insert the new battery into the battery holder
Caution!
Pay attention to the battery polarisation
– incorrect installation may damage the
motherboard.

Reassembly:
1)
Reassemble following the reassembly steps described in
2)
Perform a system checkout in accordance with the instrument checklist.
