Parts Removal Replacement

10)
Prepare a grippy, scratch free mat on
the table (red ESD mat is suitable).
11)
Remove the two screws (2.5 mm hex key
with ball end) holding the spindle nut to
measurement head frame.
12)
Gently press down on the measurement
head. Remove the long screwdriver from
the safety hole and the spindle nut.
13)
Verify that no cables are attached.
14)
Gently lift the measurement head by
placing hands as shown in
Fig. 10
and
place the measurement head on its right
side on the mat. Leave the spring in place.

Reassembly:
1)
Open the measurement head travel case
and remove the dummy cover by simply
lifting it off.
2)
Prepare the Z-guideway as shown in
Fig. 11
. Place a ‘holding tool’ so that the
Z-guideway is slightly elevated.

3)
Gently lift the measurement head from
travel case as shown in
Fig. 12
and place
the measurement head on spring and
lower onto the Z-guideway.
4)
Remove the ‘holding tool’ and press the
measurement head down (a large force
should not be required).

5)
The two plastic setscrews (slotted
screwdriver) must be tightened so that the
measurement head does not wobble from
side to side, but the measurement head
should move up and down without
resistance (
Fig. 13
).
While tightening the two plastic setscrews
ensure that the measurement head is
aligned parallel to cross-stage
). The setscrews can be
used to change this angle.
