File Based Write Filter (FBWF)
The C:\ (System) partition, inclusive the operating system, is protected by a file based write filter. This
prevents any changes from being saved to the C:\ partition. For service purposes (e.g. installation of
service tools) the protection can be temporarily disabled.
Procedure:
Enter the service mode.

Click ‘WriteProtectionOff’ shortcut for

disabling the write filter (
Reboot IOLMaster 700. After rebooting the

write filter is permanently disabled.
Attention!
After finishing the service case the
write protection filter must be set
back to “On” (

To check the current state of the FBWF run
the fbwfmgmt.exe (located in
C:\Windows\System32\)
Click the yellow ‘padlock’ icon from the
taskbar to check the status of the write
protection filter (
