• The unit controller commands the ERW bypass
dampers to close, waits 60 seconds, then prompts
the user to check the status of the damper and se-
lect either yes or no
• When the user to selects yes, the unit con-
troller moves to the next test
• When the user selects no, the ERW test is
marked as failed, and the start-up wizard ter-
minates the ERW test and records the failed
test result
Steps to check the ERW:
• The unit controller commands the ERW motor to
ON (25% speed for modulating wheels), waits
10 seconds, and then checks to see whether the
ERW motor status is ON.
• When the ERW motor status is ON, the user
selects yes, and the unit controller moves to
the next test
• When the ERW motor status is not ON, the
user selects no, the ERW test is marked as
failed, and the start-up wizard terminates the
ERW test and records the failed test result
• When the unit has a modulating ERW installed,
the unit controller commands the ERW speed to
the maximum ERW setting, waits 60 seconds,
and then prompts the user to check the status.
• When the user selects yes, the ERW test is
marked as passed and the ERW test ends
• When the user selects no, the ERW test is marked
as failed, and the start-up wizard terminates the
ERW test and records the failed test result
Supply Fan
When the start-up wizard supply fan option or either
heating or cooling options are set to enable, the start-
up wizard runs the supply fan test.
• When the unit type is SZVAV, the unit controller
starts the supply fan and commands the speed
to 100%
• When the unit type is MZVAV, the unit controller
starts the supply fan and adjusts the supply fan
speed to maintain the default duct static pressure
setpoint
For either SZVAV or MZVAV, the unit controller waits to
receive the supply fan status.
• When the status is received within 30 seconds,
the supply fan check is recorded as passed
• Otherwise, the supply fan is stopped and the sup-
ply fan check is recorded as failed
No further start-up wizard steps are permitted until the
supply fan check passes.
• If the supply fan status is lost during any subse-
quent start-up wizard steps, all unit operations are
immediately terminated and the start-up wizard
stops
• The user records L1, L2, and L3 amperages from
the supply fan VFD and enters them into the unit
controller
• When prompted to continue, select yes to run the
cooling test
Cooling
When the start-up wizard cooling option is set to enable,
the start-up wizard runs the following cooling check.
Compressor check system 1 (repeat for all installed
compressors on system 1):
• When the low ambient option is installed and the
outside air temperature (OAT) is less than 0.0°F,
the OAT is too cold to check the compressors
• Skip the compressor and refrigerant charge start-
up wizard steps
• When the low ambient option is NOT installed and
the OAT is less than 50.0°F, the OAT is too cold to
check compressors
• Skip the compressor and refrigerant charge start-
up wizard steps
The unit controller starts compressor X, stages con-
denser fans as required, and monitors the compressor
safety chain. Low pressure safety is monitored after a
1 minute delay.
• When there are any compressor X safety trips
during compressor X operation, compressor X is
stopped, compressor X check is recorded as failed,
and start-up wizard skips to the next compressor
• The unit controller displays a countdown timer and
waits. The compressor stabilization delay waits 10
minutes. After the delay, the user is prompted to
continue
• The unit controller prompts the user to answer
whether the compressor oil level is correct. The
user selects yes or no, with the default set to no
• When the user selects no, compressor X is
stopped, compressor X check is recorded as
failed, and the start-up wizard skips to the
next compressor
• The unit runs for an extra 5 minutes, which can be
skipped by the user
