Main Switch
The main switch (Figure
34) is mounted on the center
cover.
1. Remove the rear handlebar cover.
2.
Remove the center cover.
3.
Disconnect the main switch electrical connector and
remove the main switch.
Installation is the reverse of the preceding steps.
Carburetor Switch
Refer to Throttle Override System in this chapter.
Throttle Switch
Refer to Throttle Override
System in this chapter.
INSTRUMENT PANEL
WARNING LIGHT CHECK
The instrument panel (Figure
35) is equipped with a
water temperature warning light and an oil level warning
light.
The water temperature light comes on when coolant
temperature reaches
If this light comes
on while riding, stop the engine and allow it to cool before
restarting.
The oil level light comes on when the oil level in the oil
tank
is low. Do not ride the snowmobile until the oil tank
is filled.
Warning Light Check
The water temperature and oil level warning lights can
be checked for proper operation.
When the main switch is turned on, the warning lights
on the instrument panel (Figure 35) should
turn
on. After
a few seconds, the warning lights should turn off. Interpret
these results as follows:
1.
If a warning light did not come on after the main switch
was turned on, check the warning light bulbs
as
described
in this chapter. If the bulb is good, check the oil level
gauge or thermoswitch as described in this chapter.
2. If the water temperature warning light stayed on and
the engine shows no sign of overheating, check the
thermoswitch as described in this chapter.
3. If the oil level warning light stayed on and the oil
tank
is full, check the oil level sender as described in this chap-
ter.
FUEL LEVEL SENDER
All models are equipped with an electrical fuel gauge.
The fuel gauge is connected to a fuel level sender (A, Fig-
ure 36) located
in
the fuel
tank,
