Troubleshooting
Solving Macintosh problems
Problem: A job is submitted from a Macintosh client, and the
printer queues cannot be viewed.
If the Macintosh client cannot view any printer queues from the
Chooser, perform the following:
1. Verify that the AppleTalk network is up and that there is at
least one router on the network.
2. If there is no router on the AppleTalk network, jobs cannot be
submitted through the Apple Talk gateway. When a router
becomes available, reboot the controller to submit jobs
through the AppleTalk gateway.
If there is a router on the AppleTalk network, delete the /opt/
XRXnps/bin/atports file at the controller and reboot.
NOTE: You must be logged on as the root user to delete this
file.
Solving DigiPath problems
Problem: A job that is submitted from a DigiPath client does not
print.
If the following message displays, perform the procedure below.
Warning: cannot open the file xdms/XXXXX.gf/
XXXXX.tif. Select OK to continue or cancel to
stop the print job.
1. Hold the queue to which the DigiPath jobs are being sent.
NOTE: You may want to create a naming convention and a
queue for DigiPath jobs to easier identify these jobs.
a. Click the Queue Manager icon on the DocuSP window.
b. Right click in the queue list section and select [Select All]
from the pop-up menu.
c. Right click in the queue list section and select [Do Not
Accept Jobs] from the pop-up menu.
2. Wait until all jobs have completed printing.
3. Purge the /local/var/spool/data/xdms directory. (Completed
jobs from the DigiPath 2.5 client do not delete automatically).
