NOTES for Figure A.8, Dedicated SP40S with Multiple HPSAs:
1.
The Audio Source is connected to TB-4 (+) and TB-4 (-) on the SP40S; refer to the SP40S
Installation, Testing, Operations and Maintenance Manual, P84714 , for switch, jumper, sync
and operational settings.

The PTT/Trouble contacts utilize the NAC circuit on the SP40S. To activate the strobe NAC
circuit when activation of the HPSA is required, connect the SP40S TB-12 STB OUT (+) and
TB-12 STB OUT (-) to J5 pin 7 NAC IN (+) and J5 pin 8 NAC IN (-) on the HPSA AMB. No
other NAC devices shall be used on the NAC control and monitor circuit.

All trouble contacts on the HPSA’s AMB must be configured for NORMALLY CLOSED (NC);
the NC contacts will open upon loss of power, providing a trouble state.

End-of-Line resistors (EOLR), (not shown in the Audio In line in the figure), shall be connected
at the furthest HPSA. Verify the SP40S and HPSA are configured for the same output voltage
settings prior to energizing the system; failure to configure the same setting could damage the
HPSA.
5.
Multiple HPSAs can be controlled from a single SP40S. EOLR, are not shown in the figure,
however, an EOLR must be connected on the Audio In and Trouble Contacts on the furthest
HPSA. When connecting to the HPSAs, break the wire runs at each terminal block on the
HPSA, DO NOT loop the wire under the terminals.
