Troubleshooting
Control Panel Assembly:
PMI LEDs
D22 (15V LED)
on the PMI will be illuminated solid GREEN during normal
operation.
If LED is not lit, the Control Panel is not rec15VDC from the PDB. Check
the following:
•
Verify both ends of the ribbon cable from PDB-II to PMI are inserted
securely.
•
15 VDC on
TP9 to TP10
on the PDB
•
15VDC on PMI
J8
pins 49/50 and 1 (Gnd)
•
15VDC on PDB-II
J1
pins 20 and 1 (Gnd)
HPSA Self Test
Using the Control Panel, conduct an
HPSA Self Test
to confirm the Amplifier and
Horn Drivers are functioning correctly. Refer to Section 9.4.1, Amp/Driver
Settings and Configurations to verify and troubleshoot any Amp or Driver issues.
Low/No Amplifier Volume
Trace the amplifier output wires between the Amplifier Board and the HPSA
terminal blocks. Verify the wire-pairs match as follows:
AMP Board HPSA TB
J10 Chnl 1A TB1 (+)
Chnl 1B TB1 (-)
Chnl 2A TB2 (+)
Chnl 2B TB2 (-)
Low/No Amplifier Volume
Low or no volume from the Amps/Drivers can be attributed to multiple issues;
verify the following:
•
On AMP Board, verify D9
(Red LED)
is illuminated. If D9 is not lit,
housekeeping voltages may not be available to the AMP Board. Call
Customer Satisfaction for additional troubleshooting information
.
•
Confirm the volume setting for the HPSA on the Control Panel are set to
the maximum setting.
•
Verify proper resistance (4.5- 6 Ohms) across positive and negative
terminals of each horn driver.
•
Cycle the power to the Control Panel.
•
Using HyperTerminal or a suitable terminal application, verify the
System is configured correctly and the Volume Control is properly
adjusted. Refer to Section 7.2, Setting the Volume Controls
Fan
Key the microphone and verify the Amplifier fan turns on; if fan does not turn on:
•
48VDC coming from PM1 J7 Pins 1 and 2 (Gnd)
