On appropriately equipped vehicles, you can turn the distance
warning and the advance warning on or off in the Infotainment
system by pressing the button followed by the and
Assistance systems
function keys → Menu and system
settings (SETUP) .
Volkswagen recommends that the distance and advance warnings
are switched on at all times.
Temporarily switch off Front Assist in the following
situations

Introduction
Front Assist should be switched off in the following situations due to
system limitations → :
If the vehicle is being towed.
If the vehicle is on a dynamometer test bed.
If the vehicle is not being driven on public roads, for example, off-
road or on a track.
If the radar sensor malfunctions.
