Vibration Research highly recommends the VR8500 be powered from the same
mains and ground as the amplifier. Generally a power outlet is provided
inside the amplifier for this purpose.
The VR8500 power supply automatically senses line voltage.
Operating Specifications:

Important Safety Options
Important Safety Option for your 8500 controller
The following option provides further safety measures for lab personnel as well as testing equipment
and products under test. The following feature requires the software version 4.1.10 or later (earlier
versions require Wired Remote Control Option, VR655 or the Shaker Monitor & Analog DC Monditor
Inputs (which includes VR655), VR629).
Emergency Stop Switch, VR8500-ES
The Emergency Stop Switch, or E-Stop, provides lab personnel with a quick way to stop a test without
having to be in front of the computer screen to stop a test. The E-Stop shuts down a test at the Abort
Rate that is defined in each test profile under the
. This will quickly stop your test
without putting a transient "shock" into your test product.
This is a hardware option that consists of a mushroom switch in a magnetic mount enclosure and a 10
meter cable. This safety circuit requires continuity to run the system.
