EXHAUST SYSTEM
Removal
WARNING: If the engine has recently
been running, the exhaust components
may be hot to the touch.
Contact with the hot components may cause
damage to exposed skin. To avoid skin damage,
always allow the hot parts to cool before working
on the exhaust system.
1. Remove the seat.
2. Disconnect the battery, negative (black) lead first.
3.
Remove the fairing belly panel (where fitted).
5. Support the silencer and release the bolt securing
the silencer mounting bracket to the right hand
rear footrest support.

6. Remove the silencer.
7. Drain the cooling system and remove the radiator
(as described in the cooling system section) to
gain access to the downpipe fixings.
WARNING: Do not remove the coolant
pressure cap when the engine is hot.
When the engine is hot, the coolant inside the
radiator is hot and also under pressure. Contact
with the pressurised coolant will cause scalds and
skin damage.

3. Quarter-turn Fixings
4. Unhook the springs securing the silencer to the
downpipe.

9. Detach the downpipe assembly and collect the
seals from the head ports.
2. Downpipe
3. Springs
8. Release the fixings securing the downpipe joints
to the cylinder head.
