EASyPLUS Encoder/Decoder - Operation Manual V8.09

Continue

button to proceed with the firmware upgrade.

• The screen will refresh to display the firmware upgrade selections. The upgrade

utility will automatically determine which files need to be upgraded and which

communications interfaces are required (Ethernet and/or Serial).

Serial Upgrade

Ethernet Upgrade

• Select the

Use a serial port to upgrade the EASyPLUS mainboard

firmware

check box to use a serial port for upgrading the EASyPLUS

mainboard firmware rather than Ethernet. Note that an Ethernet connection is

required to upgrade the EASyNIC firmware.

If a serial port is used for the firmware upgrade, press the

Select Com Port

button to select the correct computer serial port. A window will pop up to

allow the serial port to be selected from the list of available devices. Connect

the serial cable between this port on the computer and the COM-1 port on

the EASyPLUS.

• If Ethernet is used for the firmware upgrade, enter the correct

IP Address

and

TCP Port

for the EASyPLUS in the provided fields.

If the EASyPLUS firmware is older than version 7.00, the

mainboard firmware must be upgraded using the RS-232

serial port. If the firmware version is 7.00 or greater, the entire

upgrade can be accomplished via Ethernet. Note that the

EASyNIC firmware must always be upgraded via Ethernet.
