UECP Sub-Menu
UECP (Universal Encoder Communications Protocol) is a standardized protocol for
communicating with RDS encoders and provides the ability to address all encoders,
specific groups of encoders, or individual encoders. This is particularly useful in
non-U.S. applications where the use of RDS is more highly developed and embraced
and where identical content is broadcast from multiple geographically-diverse
transmitter sites.
•
The “Use UECP” button enables/disables UECP. Enabling UECP will utilize data
coming in from the automation system or other external data source in lieu of
any internal settings.
•
The “UECP” field is used to specify the IP port on which UECP RDS data is
received.
•
Clicking on the “Update UECP” button will confirm the port entry made above or
update it if changed.
•
Enabling “Use Internal Settings on Connection Drop” will utilize any data entered
into the internal RDS fields when if the connection to the external data source is
lost. When the connection is re-established, the data from the external source
will once again be applied.
•
As UECP supports very granular addressing of RDS traffic, data can be targeted
to reach a particular transmitter site(s) or even a particular RDS encoder(s).
Enabling “Listen to Specific Address” and entering the Site Address AND Encoder
Address in their respective fields will allow Omnia.9sg’s RDS encoder to receive
this specific information.
•
The “DSN” (Data Set Number) and “PSN” (Program Service Number) fields can
optionally be used to further narrow down and filter applied information from
the data source.
