Each Monitor Output contains protection limiters which are useful as speaker
calibrations are typically done at higher volume levels and can involve radical
amounts of parametric equalization in the pursuit of a flat frequency response.
When these limiters are active, you will notice orange bars extending from the
corresponding volume control sliders. When this occurs, use the “Master Gain”
control to attenuate the overall gain and prevent the limiters from stepping in. If
you have made significant cuts to particular frequencies, you may need to raise
the “Master Gain” control so that the output level more closely matches that of
the original, un-calibrated output – especially useful when “A/B-ing” the audio
with the “Bypass” control.
•
The “Left Level” and “Right Level” controls allow the gain to be adjusted
independently in each channel and act as a “balance control” in situations where
the left and right speakers are not equally spaced from the monitor point.
•
The “Bypass Gain” control adjusts the output gain when the “Bypass” control is
enabled. Individual left/right controls are provided here as well.
•
The “Solo” controls allow only one channel at a time to be monitored.
