Replacing the Filament of the TSQ Quantum XLS Ion Source

1. Prepare a clean work area by covering the area with lint-free cloth.

2. Shut down and vent the TSQ Quantum XLS mass spectrometer. See

“Shutting Down the

System Completely”

3. Remove the ion source. See

“Removing the TSQ Quantum XLS Ion Source”

page 89

4. Wearing clean, lint- and powder- free gloves, remove the ion source from the magnet

yoke.
