Reconnect the filter to the end of the solvent line (see
d. Insert the solvent reservoir filter and inlet line into one of the solvent reservoir
bottles, and screw the cap onto the solvent reservoir bottle until it is secure.

2. Position the bottles in the solvent platform or tray, allowing the solvent inlet line to hang
down along the left side of the system.
• For an LC system with an Accela Autosampler, the solvent reservoir bottles reside in
the solvent platform at the top of the system.
• For an LC system with an Accela Open Autosampler, the solvent reservoir bottles
reside in the solvent tray attached to the autosampler table.
3. For each solvent reservoir line, connect the flangeless fitting to the appropriate inlet port
of the built-in degassing unit.
shows the flangeless fitting connected to the solvent reservoir line. The
flangeless fittings come in four colors: blue, green, yellow, and orange.
IMPORTANT
Only use stainless steel, 20 μm particle size sinker frits to
terminate the solvent reservoir lines.
Tip
The cap is a two-piece assembly. The upper section (see
) snaps
onto a threaded section. You can screw the threaded section onto the bottle and
snap on the upper section after installing the tube, or, if you are replacing existing
tubing, you can unscrew the entire cap from the bottle. You might also be able to
use the upper section alone for solvent bottles with a wider neck.
