Engine Mechanical: 1D-38
• The rear cam chain tension adjuster are identified by
the embossed letters (R-UP).
• Retract the push rod by pushing the stopper (2).
• Install a new gasket (3).
CAUTION
!
Use a new gasket to prevent oil leakage.
• Install the rear cam chain tension adjuster (4) and
tighten its mounting bolts.
Tightening torque
Cam chain tension adjuster bolt (a): 10 N·m (1.0
kgf-m, 7.0 lbf-ft)
• Install the spring (5).
• Install the gasket (6) and cam chain tension adjuster
cap bolt (7).
NOTE
Click sound is heard when the cam chain
tension adjuster cap bolt is installed.
• Tighten the cam chain tension adjuster cap bolt (7) to
the specified torque.
Tightening torque
Cam chain tension adjuster cap bolt (b): 23 N·m (
2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 lbf-ft)
CAUTION
!
After installing the cam chain tension
adjuster, check to be sure that the adjuster
works properly by checking the slack of cam
chain.
• Turn the crankshaft clockwise approx. 1-1/3 turns
(486
°
) and align the “F I T” line “A” on the generator
with the index marks “B” of the timing inspection hole.
• Tighten the front camshaft journal holder bolts to the
specified torque.
Tightening torque
Camshaft journal holder bolt: 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m,
7.0 lbf-ft)
