2) Install the piston rings.
• Apply engine oil to piston ring.
• Install 2nd ring (3) and 1st ring (4) to piston.
NOTE
• 1st ring (4) and 2nd ring (3) differ in shape
and color as shown in figure.
• Also indicated in figure, the 1st and 2nd
ring are marked “C” with the letter “R” or
“1R” which must face towards top of
piston.
3) Position piston rings so gaps are staggered at
approximately 90 degree angles as shown.
CAUTION
Failure to stagger piston ring gaps may result
in crankcase oil dilution.
Piston to cylinder
1) Install conrod bearing (1) to conrod (2) and cap (3).
CAUTION
• Assemble each conrod bearing to it’s
original position.
• Do not apply oil between conrod and
bearing or between bearing cap and
bearing.
