4.15. PowerShell Multi-Port Helper Commands
Several specialized support commands are provided in PowerShell to pre-configure PowerShell for Multi-Port testing as
well as to facilitate unique Multi-Port operations. Certain commands are generally used only by Multi-Port test scripts
and/or the Multi-Port sequencer script, however, they may have potential use in other applications such as high speed
multi-chassis PSE testing. These are described below.

st_pd_setup
Defines PD Emulation parameters to be utilized during Multi-Port testing. This is equivalent to the PD
setup menu described above in Section 3.3.2. If parameters are being specified using the keywords
class
,
inrush
, or
steady
, use as many specifiers as needed in a single command.
?
Query current setup
default
Set default values to all PD emulation parameters for all PD classes
PD_Class
PD classification level to modify. Range 0, 1, 2, or 3.
class
Specify a PD classification current for a particular class
Class_mA
Classification current (load). Resolution = .5 mA. Range= 0-5 mA (Class 0), 8-13mA
(Class 1), 16-21mA (Class 2), 25-31mA (Class 3)
inrush
Specify an inrush current load for a particular class.
Inrush_mA
Inrush Current Load. Range = 50 to 511 mA, Resolution 0.5 mA.
steady
Specify a steady-state powered current load for a particular class.
Load_mA
Steady state load current. Resolution= 0.5mA. Range= 10-350mA (Class 0 and 3), 10-
90mA (Class 1), 10-160mA (Class 2)
Note
:
The
inrush
settings are only valid and applied within the PSA-1200 or PSA-2400 platforms and
are not available with the PSA-PL platform

st_config
Pre-Configures multiple PSA chassis’ for testing such that the
st_psa
command can be utilized to
effect rapid switching between PSA addresses to support high speed testing. Note: this command
does not provide a help menu and should only be used if selected PSA’s are assured of being
available on the local network. Only IP Addresses of PSA’s need to be entered to utilize the
st_psa
command.
PSA_ipAddrN
IP address of one PSA to be utilized in a multi-PSA test setup. Up to 8 allowed.
allports
Setup to include all available test ports associated with PSA
slots
Specify a range of blade slots to provide test ports for a particular PSA chassis
slotRange
Range of slots to be used in format M-N where M<N, M and N are between 1-12.
ports
Specify a range of test ports to be a test configuration for a particular PSA chassis
portList
List of test ports to be used from a PSA. Format would be 1,1 1,2 2,1 2,2 …
psa_ID
st_psa
Switches PSA chassis connection in PowerShell. Equivalent to
psa
command except execution is
virtually instantaneous. Requires
st_config
to have been already executed.
psa_ID
Integer identification of PSA to connect. Range is 1 to 8. Associated PSA is order of PSA
addresses utilized in the
st_config
command (see above).
wait_time
st_wait
Command to cause program pauses in increments of seconds. Command will allow updates to the
PowerShell window during the delay period and should be used in place of Tcl
after
command for long
program delays.
wait_time
Time to wait in seconds.
st_disconnect
Disconnects and powers down all test ports configured via an
st_config
command.
ON
|
OFF
st_fault_mode
Command places PowerShell into a special mode where faults will be deliberately inserted into each
Multi-Port test. Generally, this setting should be turned off.
ON
Generate deliberate PSE faults to Multi-Port tests.
OFF
Disable deliberate fault generation to Multi-Port Tests.
