4.10. PowerShell PSE Conformance Test Support Commands
PowerShell offers high level PSE characterization and analysis utilities for those systems that are enabled for PSE
Conformance Test Suite. These are described below.

Utility uses
psa_det_char
to analyze various aspects of PSE
detection signaling on the current port, then retains those
parameters into a global structure for use by PSE Conformance
Tests that require knowledge of detection signaling
characteristics. The utility also calculates a nominal sync delay
time for use with synchronization to open circuit detection
signaling. The array structure populated by
get_sync_parms
is:

This array structure is volatile and will re-initialize anytime the
PSE Conformance Test Sequencer is run thus forcing new re-
characterization for every port tested.

This utility performs a detailed analysis of PSE detection signaling
behaviors and is used by PSE Conformance Tests to adapt to the
variety of PSE technologies available. Characterizations is done
for both open circuit signaling and invalid signature response
signaling. Parameters returned are:

: Open Circuit Signaling Type

: Optimal level for open circuit synchronization trigger
syncBackoff
: Minimim timing between open circuit pulses
ocDutyCycle
: Duty cycle of open circuit signaling above syncTrig

: Idle State back-off type

: Optimal level for Idle State synchronization trigger

: Idle State floor voltage

: Minimum timing between Idle state pulses

: Optimal detection signature for Idle State analysis

System commands are utilized to control and configure at the PowerSync Analyzer chassis level. The
