3.3.3.
Multi-Port Test Sequencer Menu and Multi-Port Reporting
The
Multi-Port Test Sequencer
menu
(Figure 3.41)
is analogous to the PSE Conformance Sequencer menu. This
menu enables the automated sequencing of selected or all Multi-Port tests and automated generation of a standard
Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or text file report.
Much like the
Multi-Port PSE Tests
menu, the sequencer menu offers a
PD
Emulation
sub-menu to configure PD
emulation characteristics and
a PSE
Characteristics
sub-menu to enter or
display PSE MPS methods. These
functions are discussed above in Section
3.3.2.
The
Multiport Tests
sub-menu allows
the selection of specific tests or
All
Tests
. It also offers the
Logging Mode
control and the
Test Setups
helper
menu. Both of these are described
above in Section 3.3.2.
Also analogous to the PSE
Conformance Test Sequencer menu,
there is a
Report Configuration
sub-
menu enabling the reporting to be
automatically directed to the standard
PSE Spreadsheet report for Multi-Port
or to a text file. Text report files may
take on a Time-Date Stamp (default) file
name or may be placed in a file name specified by the user.
The
SEQUENCE TESTS
button begins the sequence of Multi-Port tests.
Test Status
will be reported as the tests
sequence. The
TERMINATE
button will suspend PSE Multi-Port Testing upon the completion or partial completion
of the currently active test. Partial test reports should be available within the appropriate
…\Results\
subdirectory after
testing is suspended. If default spreadsheet reporting is specified, those results will be found in a
n
mp_report_data.csv
file.
The standard Multi-Port spreadsheet report is a Microsoft Excel template file,
mp_report.xls
, that will be found in the
…./Results
directory (
see Sections 2.4.5 and 2.4.6
) as well as in any subdirectories established below that for storing
PSE test reports. The Multi-Port test sequencer develops an intermediate
mp_report_data.csv
file that is then utilized
by macros within
mp_report.xls
to automatically process Multi-Port test data upon completion of the test sequence.
An example report is provided below.
The standard Multi-Port spreadsheet report
(Figure 3.42)
organizes all test results by test category, that is power-up
tests, capacity tests, stress-duration tests, isolation tests, disconnect tests, and overload tests. Many of the parameters
gathered during Multi-Port testing are compared against “ideal” test limits embedded within that same report. Those
parameters that deviate from ideal limit ranges are highlighted throughout the report. Users may choose to modify
limit ranges using the limit table built into the same report file.
