The
Slots
and
Ports
checkboxes are inactive for any unpopulated slots in the currently selected PowerSync Analyzer
chassis. Users may arbitrarily select from the available
Slots
and
Ports
or select
All Ports
to run the selected tests
across all available ports within the currently selected chassis.
Users have the option to repeat a set of tests up to 100 times by entering a value greater than 1 into the
Test Cycles
entry field. Each test cycle includes execution of every selected test across every selected slot-port.
There are two types of reports available from the Test Sequencer. The first is an automatic Excel
Spreadsheet Report
(Figure 3.32)
,
psa_report.xls
(in the “…\Results\” directory and each subdirectory below this level –
see Sections 2.4.5
and 2.4.6
). This spreadsheet automatically executes a macro sequence to form around the dimensions of data collected
(
tests
,
slot-ports
,
test cycles
) and produce test data, test statistics by test cycle, and test limit checking against 802.3af
specification parameters. The
Test Sequencer
uses a file called
psa_report_data.csv
as an intermediate to capture
data prior to loading that data in to
psa_report.xls
. Upon completion of the test sequence,
psa_report.xls
will
automatically open and present the test data. Users may then save this file using MS Excel’s standard menu to a
directory and file name that they choose. The report will also provide time and date that the sequence of tests was
initiated.
The
CHECK CONNECTs
button performs a port connection integrity check on all selected test ports. This is useful
for assuring that all PSE ports are properly connected to the corresponding PSA ports prior to sequencing tests.
The
SEQUENCE
TESTS
button begins
the actual sequencing
of PSE Conformance
Tests. The order of
sequence depends
upon the type of report
selected. If the
standard Microsoft
Excel spreadsheet
report is selected, the
same test will be
executed on all
specified test ports in
ascending order during
each test cycle.
Sequencing will the
repeat this for each of
the other specified
tests.
The
TERMINATE
button will suspend
PSE Conformance
Testing upon the
completion of the
currently active test.
Partial test reports will
be produced and also
should be available
within the appropriate
…\Results\
subdirectory after
testing is suspended.
