Procedure for creating customer-specific IPPG settings
.
Clinical patient instances are included on an additional CD. This CD contains 3 patients
with one CC and one MLO exposure each.
•
These images need to be transferred to the reporting station, e.g. Mammo Report Plus.
•
It is recommended to show the images to the reporting physician(s). The application
specialist assisting the customer's staff should take down the comments of the physi-
cians on the individual images indicated on the viewing station.
•
For each of the 3 patients, the IPPG settings Normal, Low Contrast and High Contrast
are available. If the customer wants to adjust the basic settings for brightness and con-
trast, the images must be windowed according to the customer's preferences based on
an IPPG setting.
•
New values for window width and window center can be determined using the
image
processing configurator
. The values set by the customer as the optimal ones are en-
tered in the configurator, whereupon the average values are determined.
•
The new values (window width and window center) can then be entered in a newly cre-
ated IPPG (e.g. called "Standard") and stored.
The
image processing configurator tool
gives assistance in determining the cus-
tomer-specific values. It can be downloaded from the Siemens Med Intranet at:
CS/For Service/SP/Mammography/Mammomat Novation DR WH AWS/Software
How to use the configuration tool
1. Import the example images to the AWS and send it to the MammoReport

settings to the personal preferences of the customer, e.g. "Normal"
3. Start the configuration tool
4. Choose the "Processing Parameter Group" (PPG) on which you based the optimiza-
tion, e.g. "Normal"
5. Enter the new window level and width value for every patient and choose
"Calculate"
to get the new parameters
