11–16 • Synergy 1 Panel Maintenance Synergy 1 and Synergy 100 Maintenance Guide (v16-S1)
• Disconnect the data cable from the display module’s 15-pin header. This data cable
originates from the
Key Switch Board (4216A-034).
• Use needle-nose pliers to disconnect the single small power connector that also
originates from the adjacent
Key Switch Board (4216A-034).
• Remove the screws from each corner of the Display Module , and set them aside for
later re-assembly.
• Carefully drop the display module out from underneath the control panel.
5. Install the new Display Module as follows:
• Carefully place the new Display Module into the control panel.
• Secure the new Display Module with the four corner screws.
• Use needle-nose pliers to reconnect the single small power connector (that
originates from the
Key Switch Board (4216A-034)) to the Display Module .
• Reconnect the data cables to the 15-pin header of the new Display Module .
• Ensure that the data cables and the header are properly aligned.
6. Reposition the Synergy 1 control panel as follows
• Close the top of the control panel.
• Flip the control panel back onto its side.
• Replace and tighten the screws to secure the cover.
• Return the control panel to operating position.
7. Power on the Synergy 1 control panel.
8. Verify that the display functions properly. Refer to the the section “ Testing the Display ”
on page 11-14 for instructions.
9. Adjust the contrast of the new Display Module for optimum readability as follows:
• Navigate to the Large Display Menu as follows:

HOME
(to display the Main Menu 1-2 )
~
MORE
(to display the Main Menu 2-2 )
~
Setup
(to display the Setup Menu )
~ Display (to display the Display Menu )
~ Large Display (to display the Large Display Menu )
• Use the middle Contrast knob to adjust contrast.
This completes the procedure to replace the display of the Synergy 1 control panel.
