Briefing and training
DANGER
Risk of the most severe personal injury and serious material damage and even death due to
insufficiently trained operating personnel, in particular, due to mechanical and electrical
hazards as well as hazards arising from the high temperatures.
⇒
The kiln may only be operated by authorised (regularly) trained personnel over the age
of 18 (exception: e.g., for training purposes under supervision).
⇒
As the operator, create meaningful operating and work instructions and train the
authorised operating personnel regularly.
⇒
Staff with health restrictions may only operate the kiln under supervision or require
special instruction and training from the operator.
⇒
Before starting work, instruct the personnel based on the technical documentation about:
the nature and scope of the activities
the possible hazards
the type, scope and operation of the safety devices and protective functions
the mandatory wearing of personal protective equipment
the use of suitable tools (e.g., when changing workpieces)
the responsibilities and competencies for operation, maintenance and repair
⇒
Always follow these instructions:
after commissioning or recommissioning the kiln
at regular intervals
after extraordinary events
after technical changes.
⇒
Document these instructions in writing (e.g., confirmation that the technical documentation has been read and
understood).
⇒
As the operator, you should continuously refer to safety-conscious working and setting up with the kiln during
the regular training sessions.
⇒
Continuously increase this knowledge, explain it using practical examples and check whether the content is
understood.
⇒
To do this, keep all safety and hazard notices on the kiln in legible condition and replace them if necessary.
3.5.
Personal protective equipment (PPE)
WARNING

without wearing the prescribed and recommended personal protective equipment.
⇒
Make sure that personal protective equipment is available and use it when working with
the kiln.
⇒
Make sure that appropriate work clothing is worn.
