13.
Repairs
Follow the repair instructions listed below - these are the prerequisites for the perfect operation and long service life of
the kiln.
13.1.
General safety information
DANGER
Risk of serious personal injury or death and material damage to the kiln by touching live parts
when operating.

Only carry out repair work when the kiln is in a safe and de-energised state.
⇒
Trip all necessary circuit breakers to avoid accidentally touching live parts.
⇒
Pull out the power plug or switch off the electrical power to the equipment.
⇒
Before starting work on live parts of the electrical systems and equipment, ensure that
they are voltage-free and remain so for the duration of the work.
⇒
Before starting work, you must check whether the kiln can still be switched on.
⇒
Put up warning signs that indicate work is being carried out.
⇒
Let hot kiln components cool down before starting work.
⇒
Wear protective gloves when working on the kiln.
⇒
After completing the work, check all loosened connections and check that the cables
are firmly seated, and that the protective equipment is functioning properly.
DANGER
Risk of severe personal injury and property damage and even death while working on or in the
kiln if there is still residual energy in the kiln.
Note that certain modules in the switch box can still be supplied with voltage, even if the main
switch has been switched off for work.

Note that the residual voltage can remain in the kiln for several minutes.
⇒
Switch off the kiln completely.
⇒
Check that the kiln is actually de-energised before starting work.
WARNING
Risk of serious personal injury and property damage caused by activities on and to do with the
kiln and by personnel who have not been authorised, briefed, trained or are unsuitable
(unqualified).

Only have repairs carried out by specially trained and authorised personnel in
compliance with the instructions in the operating manual.
⇒
Ensure that the operating personnel are briefed and regularly trained.
WARNING
Risk of serious personal injury and property damage caused by removed or decommissioned
protective equipment or covers, or missing or illegible warnings.
⇒
It is not permitted to dismantle or remove protective equipment, covers or warning
signs during operation.
⇒
Regularly check protective equipment, covers and warning signs to ensure that they are
in perfect condition.
⇒
Renew missing or illegible warning signs.
