6.3.3.
Power connection note
DANGER
Risk of serious personal injury and property damage and even death due to incorrect
connection of the kiln to the power supply.
⇒
The kiln should only be installed and connected to the electrical supply lines by qualified
electricians.
Notes:
⇒
For the operation of the kiln in workshops, laboratories and other environments, it is absolutely necessary to
have a separate power supply with its own protection provided by a qualified electrician.
⇒
An RCD residual current circuit breaker should be used for this (colloquially: RCCB or ELCB).
⇒
Under certain circumstances, an RCD residual current circuit breaker with a tripping current of 0.03 A may tend
to trip prematurely (e.g., due to room humidity or the moisture content of the ware).
⇒
A larger RCD residual current circuit breaker (0.3 A) could be selected as long as the selected circuit is used
exclusively for the kiln.
⇒
However, this decision should always be made by a qualified electrician.
⇒
If this cannot be guaranteed, a permanent connection must be provided.
⇒
Only connect the kiln with the power cable supplied - an extension cable must never be used.
⇒
Special feature of eDrive:
If a residual current circuit breaker is used in the version with eDrive, a Type B RCCB sensitive to all current
types must be used.

General safety information
DANGER
Risk of serious personal injury and property damage and even death due to working on and
with an improperly connected or electrically defective kiln.
⇒
Check the kiln and the control unit to ensure that they are in proper and perfect
condition before using the equipment for the first time.
⇒
The kiln should be checked regularly (at least once a year) to ensure it is in perfect
working condition.
⇒
The tests should only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
When used for business, the following also applies:
Define the inspection cycles based on the risk assessment.
7.2.
Initial inspection & subsequent checks of the kiln system
⇒
You must carry out the initial inspection after commissioning but before starting the firing operation.
⇒
You must carry out the test before restarting the kiln or if the kiln has not been used for a long time.
⇒
In the case of commercial use, the kiln and the control system must be checked by a qualified electrician for
proper and perfect condition in accordance with DGUV regulation 3 or the corresponding national regulations
of the operating country before the first commissioning and at the appropriate interval.
⇒
Make sure that no unauthorised persons are in the work area during the test.
⇒
Indicate that checks are being carried out (e.g., with a sign) on the kiln or kiln door.
