6.2.1.
General safety information
DANGER
Serious personal injury and property damage caused by:
•
loss of stability or placing the kiln on surfaces that are not sufficiently stable or
•
a poorly prepared location for the kiln.
WARNING
Risk of serious personal injury and property damage:
⇒
Only have work such as installation carried out by specially trained and authorised
personnel.
6.2.2.
Acclimatising the kiln
The kiln should acclimatise for at least 12 hours or preferably 24 hours, after delivery and installation at the operating
site but before commissioning.
⇒
Rapid temperature change can condense the moisture in the cold air and leading to short circuits and defects
in electrical and other components.
6.2.3.
Levelling the kiln
Before fixing the kiln to the floor, use a spirit level to check that the kiln is standing straight. If the kiln is not upright, the
kiln casing can warp and damage the structure of the insulating material in the firing chamber. This can impair the
function of the ELS kiln floor.
⇒
To level the kiln, a sheet of metal up to 3 mm thick can be placed between the kiln casing and the floor of the
operating location.
