Additional configuration
Additional configuration, such as specifying Profilers that are to receive data from
the Gateway and forwarding flow data from particular sources to particular
Profiler destinations, can be performed on the
Configuration
pages. For
descriptions of making other configuration changes, refer to the Gateway online
help system.
Identifying Profilers
To specify Profilers that are to receive traffic flow data from the Gateway:
1.
Go to the
Configuration
Profilers
page.
2.
Click
Add New Entry
to open a blank entry for specifying a destination
Profiler.
3.
In the
Profiler IP Address
box, enter the IP address of the management
interface for an Express or Standard Profiler, or the address of the first
Expansion Module for an Enterprise Profiler.
4.
In the
Flow Sources
box, either:
•
Leave the box blank to forward all flow data to the specified Profiler, or
•
Enter a comma-separated list of the IP addresses of flow source devices
whose traffic is to be sent to the Profiler.
You can enter IP addresses by clicking
Browse
and searching for the flow
source device by name, address, or subnet.
5.
Click
Configure Now
at the bottom of the page to apply the settings.
Flow forwarding
Gateway can forward flow data to up to five destinations. Flow data is forwarded
in the format in which it is received.
You can make the forwarded flow data appear to be coming from the Gateway.
Use the
Overwrite Source
option to use the Gateway address as the source
address in the forwarded data packets. This may be necessary to prevent packets
from appearing to be spoofed.
