3. Mounting and powering
Safety information
Follow the safety precautions outlined in the Riverbed
Safety and Compliance
Guide
when installing and setting up your system. The guide contains the safety
information in multiple languages. Before you install, operate, or service your
system, you must be familiar with the safety information.
Note:
Failure to follow these safety guidelines can result in injury or damage to
the equipment. Mishandling of the equipment voids all warranties. Please read
and follow safety guidelines and installation instructions carefully.
Hardware installation
When you are ready to mount the chassis in the rack,
1.
Locate the rails in the shipping carton.
2.
Locate the rail installation instructions in the accessory box.
3.
Mount the rails in the rack, as described in the instructions.
4.
Place the chassis into the component mounting channels of the rails and
ensure that the component release levers lock the chassis securely in the
rails, as described and illustrated in the instructions.
CAUTION:
Observe the safety cautions in the mounting instructions.
5.
Pressing the slide extension release levers, slide the chassis into the rack.
6.
Connect the power cable to the chassis and to rack power. The system
starts up automatically when power is connected. However, you can use
the power button to power off the system if necessary.
The bezel can be locked in place. The key is provided in the accessory box.
