The cover horizontal registration motor (M31) turns on and positions the cover at the horizontal position
as shown by the arrow. The size of the cover determines which sensor is used to position the cover:
• Cover registration sensor (S) (S71). Used for small paper sizes up to 297 mm wide.
• Cover registration sensor (L) (S72). Used for large paper sizes over 297 mm wide.
If the cover registration sensor (S71: Small) or (S72: Large) in the cover registration unit [1] is ON, the
cover horizontal registration motor (M31) turns on and moves the cover [2] the prescribed distance away
from the sensor after the sensor turns off.
